We're back from our wonderful vacation in a cabin in the redwoods. Our lovely friend Dana gave us his family cabin outside Fortuna for a week. We had some fun day tips to Eureka, the Lost Coast, and Arcata. One day I even sat next to the cabin pool (ok, so it was a little bigger than a cabin) and read a book while E explored the area.
Some highlights...
The super private cabin.
It was up a steep gravel road and got pretty cold at night so we often found ourselves getting back before sunset, making dinner and getting wrapped up in Mad Men, season 1 on dvd.
Dinner our first night. We made pirogies with onion, apples and brussel sprouts
The Lost Coast
Nice thick home made pancakes and bacon for breakfast.
We went to the Samoa Cookhouse for lunch one day and then hung out on the Samoa Dunes.
Back at the cabin, we noticed a woodpecker was having his way with the pear tree.
It rained our last day and the snails started to come out.
So long redwoods.
